Introduction to 3D Printing
The Swanton Library is pleased to announce the arrival of a 3D printer on loan to us through the month of April. To educate our patrons on this exciting technology, Colin Doolittle, Professor of Engineering at Northwest State Community College, will be holding a workshop on Tuesday, April 11 at 7:00 pm. Heart Radiothon Screening
The annual Heart Radiothon screening at the Swanton Public Library will be Thursday, April 13 from 4-7pm. Participants will get their total cholesterol number, HDL (good cholesterol number) and blood glucose (blood sugar) number, as well as a blood pressure check. A $5.00 donation to Heart Radiothon is requested.

April Cardmaking: Tag, You’re It!
Our series of cardmaking classes returns in April with some lovely cards with the theme of “Tag, You’re It!” Instructor Anna Geis will lead the class from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 20. A $5.00 supply fee covers materials to make three cards. Children ages eight and older are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Please call, come in, or visit our website to register.
If you are a beginner or a seasoned picker and want to learn more about the guitar, the library will be offering three guitar classes on Thursday, April 27. For those new to the guitar, beginner classes will meet at 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm. If you already have some guitar knowledge, an intermediate/advanced class will follow at 7:30. These classes are free, but registration is required as there is limited space. Call, come in, or register online.
Instructor Aimee Strohbeck’s yoga classes will be offered on four dates in April. Classes will resume their regular schedule in May. Beginning Yoga will be held on Monday, April 3 from 10:15 am – 11:45 am. Class fee is $10 per session. Intro to Yoga will be offered on Thursdays, April 6 and 27 from 10:15 am to 11:45 am. Class fee is by donation, proceeds benefit the library. Chair Yoga will be held on Thursdays, April 6 and 27 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm; this class involves poses modified to be gentler while sitting or standing holding a chair. Class fee is $5. Evening yoga meets on Monday, April 3 from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Class fee is $10.
This group, led by Kathy Queen, invites knitters and crocheters of all skill levels to enjoy time with other fiber artists. The group will meet Mondays, April 3 and 17, at 1:30 pm, and Wednesdays, April 5 and 19, at 6:30 pm.
Come join the chess group on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 pm or Saturday afternoons at 1:00 pm. Players of all skill levels are welcomed.
Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group
NW Ohio Alzheimer’s Association will facilitate meetings at the library at 3:00 pm on the last Tuesday of every month for caregivers.
