Coats’ Double Leads Durham To 3-2 Win Over Toledo Mud Hens

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Jason Coats hit a run-scoring double in the fourth inning, leading the Durham Bulls to a 3-2 win over the Toledo Mud Hens on Thursday.
The double by Coats started the scoring in a three-run inning and gave the Bulls a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, Christian Arroyo and Curt Casali hit RBI singles.

After Toledo scored a run in the fifth on a home run by Mikie Mahtook, the Mud Hens cut into the deficit in the seventh inning when Jason Krizan hit an RBI double, driving in Mahtook.

Starter Forrest Snow (2-1) got the win while Joshua Turley (1-1) took the loss in relief in the International League game. Diego Castillo pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings for his second save of the season.

For the Mud Hens, Chad Huffman doubled twice and singled. Mahtook homered and singled, scoring two runs.

Despite the loss, Toledo is 3-1 against Durham this season.
