“Every Hero Has A Story” For Edon Library Summer Program

IMG_0090.JPGEdon Branch Library’s Summer Reading Program, with the theme of “Every Hero Has a Story” will begin Wednesday, June 3rd and end on Friday, June 26th. Local heroes will be visiting the library to share their experiences, throughout the summer reading program. Also, each week kids will take part in challenges of strength, speed, and skill. As they pass each test they will advance toward becoming a super hero!

There will be regular programing as well. On Wednesdays, story hour will be held at 11:30 am and at 1:00 pm there will be Make & Take Programs with the themes of “Animal Heroes,” “Local Heroes,” “Unsung Heroes,” and “Super Heroes.” Fridays will be set aside for Movie Time at 1:00 pm on June 5, 12, 19, and 26 in the meeting room.

Several special events will take place during summer reading. On Saturday, June 13th, weather permitting, you are invited to attend the Garden of Edon Community Movie Night! Bring your lawn chairs or blankets! Popcorn will be provided. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. On Wednesday, June 17th, during the Unsung Hero Program at 1:00 pm, a special visitor from Red Cross will be talking about weather safety and tornadoes. Bring your 2 liter bottle to make a tornado in a bottle. The summer reading closing party will be held on Wednesday, June 24th at 1:00 pm. There will be fun games and a super hero obstacle course! Children and parents are invited to come in costume.
