SAND CREEK, MICHIGAN – Southwest of Adrian, Michigan lies the community of Sand Creek. The Fayette Eagles traveled there on December 3 to take on the Aggies, and for the first period they found them to be a formidable opponent. Then came the second third and fourth quarters, and everything changed.
Trailing 14-10 after one quarter, the Eagles went on a 16-5 tear in the second. They blew the game open with a 12-4 third, en route to a 49-32 win in the inaugural meeting of the two squads.
Cole Burkholder led all scorers with a dozen for the 1-1 Eagles, including nine in the pivotal second period. Zayne Colegrove splashed 10 points; Chandler Sanford had 9 points and Tyler Cox 8. Logan Franks finished with 4 points, Koby Biddix drained a trey, Justin Stoltzfus had 2 points and Patrick Hookstadt had a free throw.
