The workshop focuses on the basics of home canning and preservation and is appropriate for people with all levels of experience.
You will learn:
• Basic food safety principles.
• How to use a water bath canner and a pressure canner.
• How to freeze fruits and vegetables.
The workshop is presented by OSU Extension Williams County Master Gardeners with guest speaker Patrice Powers-Barker, the Family Consumer Extension Educator from the OSU Extension Lucas County office. There is a small fee for the speaker and handouts.
Pressure gauge testing is available for a minimal cost. Gauges can be dropped off at the OSU Extension Office at before the class and can be picked up after the class. However, you are not required to attend the class to have your gauge tested.
