According to a press release issued by David Yost, Auditor of the State of Ohio, on Tuesday, March 31, Anglea Spadafore stole more than $7000 from school vending machines.

Spadafore is a former building secretary in the Wauseon School District. Part of Spadafore’s job while she was secretary was to collect funds from the machines and deposit those funds into the district’s bank account. Also released by the Auditor’s Office on March 31 was an audit that indicated that, between July 2012 and October 2014, Spadafore stole between $7019 and $7819 from the vending machines. Auditors determined that Spadafore did deposit $3834. However, based on the amount of product purchased and prior years’ profit margins, the amount deposit should have been between $10,853 and $11,653.

Spadafore was indicted on a single count of theft in office by a Fulton County Grand Jury on December 15, 2015. A subsequent guilty plea was entered into court records on her behalf on January 2, 2015 and a sentencing hearing has been set of April 15. The Auditor’s Office has also issued a finding for recovery against Spadafore in the amount of $7019.
