Virginia McMillen, the former West Unity Postmaster, was sentenced to one day in jail and two years of probation in federal court. In addition, McMillen received a $100 fine and was ordered to pay $9,967 in restitution.
McMillen had been a postal employee since 1992 and was originally suspended from duty in October 2014 after an unannounced audit conducted by the U.S. Postal Service Inspector General’s Office. A charge of misappropriation of postal funds was filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Toledo on January 5, 2015.
