Archbold, OH, October 8, 2014 a series of free, one-hour Financial Classes will be held at Northwest State Community College in Archbold, Ohio. The classes will be offered either October 28th or 30th at 6:00 p.m. The financial workshop is called Retirement Talk University, which is a special series of classes most suited for those nearing retirement or already in retirement. The workshops will focus on key strategies on topics that could impact retirement. With the elimination of company pensions and unstable financial markets over the last decade, education for plan participants and investors about risk management and the nuisances involved is more important than ever. Each topic will be taught at a pace allowing you to advance at a level you are comfortable with.
Topics to be discussed include:
•Risk Management- learn how to manage risk in retirement and understand systematic risk vs. return
•Income Planning- learn why this is the foundation of your retirement and how Social Security factors in, as well as how to structure a solid income plan
•Social Security- understand primary insurance amount (PIA) and why the highest individual strategy may not always be the best strategy
•401k Management- learn how to receive help with your employer plan or defined benefit
•Understand the different investment vehicles and fees associated with them
•Understand the difference between advisors who use the suitability model vs. the fiduciary standard
