The Fulton County Senior Center has a variety of fun activities scheduled for the month of June. On, Tuesday, June 16 they have a scheduled Golfing Day Trip at Ironwood Golf Course, Wauseon. They will leave from the Wauseon Senior Center at 10:00 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. tee time. Golfers may also meet at Ironwood prior to tee time. The greens fee is $15 per person for nine holes and a cart. One dollar transportation donation is accepted if you choose to ride the Senior Center bus. Please sign up at 419-337-9299 as the golf course would like a count of golfers on June 7. On Tuesday, June 23, Chef Kyle Wilcoxon will lay aside his apron and pick up his golf clubs. Join him on this Day Trip to White Pines Golf Course in Swanton. Transportation will leave from the Wauseon Senior Center at 9:20 am or you may meet at White Pines for a 10:00 am tee time. For a fun new experience, the Senior Center introduced Line Dancing classes in May, and they are still going strong. No experience necessary for this low-impact, high fun class. Join them on Mondays from 1:00 to 2:30 pm in the Wauseon Senior Center gym.
The Area Office on Aging of Northwest Ohio will sponsor the 50+ Sports Classic on Saturday, June 13 at St. Francis de Sales High School, 2323 Bancroft Street, Toledo. This is a Senior Olympics type of event for individuals 50 years of age and older with scheduled sports including running, swimming, chess/ backgammon, horseshoes and table tennis, among others. Participants may use their qualification in these events for the regional and national Senior Olympics. Pick up your registration form at the Wauseon Senior Center site or register online at www.areaofficeonaging.com/sports.pdf. The registration fee is $30 after May 28 and $50 fee for softball, volleyball and basketball team registration.

Get help understanding insurance bills, Medicare, completing applications, and more. On Tuesday, June 23, Cheryl will be at the Evergreen Library in Metamora from 10 to noon. Thursday, June 25 is your opportunity to meet with Cheryl in the Wyse Commons Library on the Fairlawn campus, Archbold, from 10 to noon. Cheryl’s services are offered at no cost to seniors in partnership with Wyse Commons and the local libraries.
