(Wauseon, OH) The Fulton Soil and Water Conservation District would like to invite all media partners to their Annual Ag Fest on September 23rd and 24th, 2014 from 9am-2pm.
Sponsored by the Fulton Soul and Water Conservation District and supported by many local sponsors and volunteers, the 10th Annual Ag Fest will feature a 2-day event for all Fulton County Schools, public parochial, and home school students.
During the As Fest experience, students spend the day rotating around to a variety of stations where they have the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning. Learning will include wool spinning, dairy, pork, bees, soil types, and safety topics to name just a few.
Experienced presenters from throughout Northwest Ohio will take time to teach students the importance of agriculture in their daily lives. This event has become an event that both teachers and parents look forward to each year.
“Experiences such as Ag Fest give our kids the background experience they need to make invaluable connections to our classroom learning,” notes a teacher who filled out an evaluation after the 2013 Ag Fest.
The schools participating on September 23rd include Archbold, Fayette, Pettisville, and Wauseon. The schools participating on September 24th include Delta, Evergreen, Holy Trinity, St. Richards and Swanton.
The Fulton SWCD works closely with the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Venter to correlate all the sessions with the state curriculum standards for science, language arts, math and social studies.
