There’s a “Nightmare on High Street” and the Bryan Library is daring you to face your greatest fears by taking part in this year’s Haunted Library event, held on October 25th and November 1st, from 7:00 to 11:00 pm. Filled with scream inducing twists and turns, the Haunted Library promises to be bigger and scarier than ever before.
First, you must climb up the steps of the Main Library and await your fate in the mysterious Carnegie Hall. You will then head over to the West Annex building, where you will find reality has become a terrifying dream you must escape. Make your way through a circus “Freak Show,” then creep down to the eerie basement. Watch your step, you never know what could be waiting in the stairwell. Downstairs you will see who decided to trick-or-treat for Halloween, go through an asylum filled with the most notorious villains, and be forced to flee from whatever is lurking in the boiler room. So take a walk downstairs if you dare, and ask yourself, “One, two who’s coming for you?”
This year, a special “Kiddie Show” will also be offered on Saturday, October 25th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. The program is a non-scary version of the Haunted Library geared specifically towards young children, or those who are easily frightened. Library volunteers will be in costume, handing out candy to participants. Fun games and snacks will be available.
All programs are free to the public, however free-will donations are appreciated. There will be snacks and refreshments provided for participants. The Bryan Library is located at 107 E. High Street. For more information, contact Devin Wagner at 419-636-6734 ext. 270.
