High Speed Pursuit Ends With K-9 Chase In Williams County

IMG_0558.JPGOn April 17, 2015 at about 6:45 AM, the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance with a vehicle pursuit northbound on US-127 that would be entering Williams County shortly. Williams County Deputies, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Bryan Police Department responded and assisted. The suspect vehicle entered Williams County at a high rate of speed northbound on US-127. The suspect vehicle traveled through the south edge of Bryan on South St. and continued south on Union St. (CR-15). The suspect vehicle crashed at US-6 and CR-15, but continued southbound. The suspect vehicle drove off the roadway and into a field. The suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. A Williams County K-9 completed a track and the suspect was located in a nearby wooded area.

The suspect was identified as Ryan M. McFarland, age 30, of Edgerton, Ohio. Mr. McFarland was arrested for Felony Flee and Eluding (pending additional charges). He was incarcerated at the Correction Center of Northwest Ohio.
