MONTPELIER – Four days after winning the season opener against North Central, the Montpelier Lady Locomotives spent the first period of their November 27 tilt against Ayersville in a futile search for a field goal. When the buzzer sounded ending the opening frame, the hometown girls were stuck in a 10-1 morass from which they would never extricate themselves in an eventual 50-32 defeat.
Hannah Blake led all scorers with 16 points, but her supporting cast was short on contributions to the cause. Lauren Dye was held to just 8 points, while Aleah Maas had 6 points and Christian Prather a deuce.
SCORING BY QUARTER:
Ayersville 10 14 7 19 – 50
Montpelier 1 10 8 13 – 32
