Ice Cold Starting North Central Eagles Picked Off By Evergreen In Season Debut

METAMORA – Call it opening night jitters, cold shooting hands, bad mojo…whatever. The North Central Eagles simply forgot to unpack the offense prior to their December 1 tipoff against Evergreen. The Vikings took immediate advantage and dug a hole too deep for the Eagles to extricate themselves, running away with a 59-41 win in the process.
Evergreen opened up an 18-5 first period lead. The Eagles were able to chop some of the deficit away, but a 21-11 fourth quarter doused any hope of making it close.
Jalen Dancer hit for 16 points, while Cam Cochran had 11 for the North Central boys. Clayton Ferguson put up 7 points, Branden Turner 5 and Alex Lantz 2 points.

SCORING BY QUARTER:

Evergreen 18 11 9 21 – 59
North Central 5 14 11 11 – 41
