August 26th-EDGERTON: Going on the road can be tough, as the Lady Cadets of Hilltop learned. Even a team’s best efforts may not be enough to win on an opponents home court, and Edgerton’s is no exception. As such, the Bulldog used their home court advantage and beat Hilltop in a hotly contested match.
The Cadets came out strong, but were unable to overtake Edgerton as they lost the set 22-25. Momentum swung in the Bulldog’s favor, and the girls of Hilltop dropped game 2, 13-25. The Lady Cadets attempted to rebound, but fell short in the third set, 19-25.
Ariana Brown nailed 8 kills, as well as making 3 blocks and 2 digs for the Lady Cadets. Felicity Jackson was vital to the Hilltop scoring effort, making 10 assists to go along with her 4 digs, 1 block, and 1 kill. Teammate Cierra Grant patrolled the net to the tune of 5 blocks, not to mention her 7 digs, 3 kills, and 1 ace.
