Melvin C. Conrad, age 89, of Delta, passed from this life to eternal rest while at Fulton Manor in Wauseon early Monday morning, September 30, 2013. He was born in Grand Rapids, OH on September 15, 1924 to the late Clarence and Marie (Baker) Conrad. On December 8, 1967, Melvin married Martha A Weaver, who preceded him in death in 2007. Melvin was a tool and dye machinist with Fulton Manufacturing for many years until his retirement. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Thomas Mel Conrad and sisters, Sue Green, Helen Smith and Phyllis Richards. Melvin is survived by his children, Cathy (Charles) Workman of Northwood, OH, Susan (John) Hathcock of Branson, MO, Mary Jo (Steve) Smallman of Wauseon and Linda Jane (Fred) Bordner of Haskins, OH, Connie (Jim) Nicolen of Fayette, Kathie Weaver of Rossford, John (Lezlie) Weaver of Orange, CA, Martha (Terry) Sloan of Perrysburg, sister, Ruth (Mike) Proudfoot; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109, Delta; where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday. Chaplain Chris Ropper will be officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta. The family has suggested that contributions be made to the Fulton Manor Patio Memorial Fund, 723 S.
