North Central Students Learn Self-Defense Techniques

On Thursday, December 22nd, North Central High School held “Keeping Yourself Safe Day” for students in grades 9-12. Throughout the morning, students heard presentations and learned different self-defense techniques they can use to protect themselves from potential harm. Keri Black, the Program Manager from the YWCA H.O.P.E. Center, talked to the students about the myths and facts regarding the topic of sexual assault. Katie Zartman from the Williams County Prosecutors Office spoke about issues and concerns they should be aware of when using electronic devices. The Williams County MAN Unit told students about the increasing epidemic of heroin and other drug use.
