Pettisville Lady Blackbirds Hold Off Stryker Lady Panthers On The Road


STRYKER: April 17– The Pettisville Lady Blackbirds hit the road for an in conference showdown with the Stryker Panthers on April 17, taking down the host Panthers 11-6 in an extra innings battle. The game went into the 9th inning tied at 6-6, but Pettisville was able to break the game open and claim the conference victory.

On the mound for the Lady Blackbirds, Teagan Kauffman went the entire 9 innings in the game allowing 6 runs off of 6 hits while sitting down 8 batters. Kauffman also gave up 8 walks in the game. Taking the loss for Stryker was Conner Varner, who went 9 innings, allowing 11 runs off of 12 hits.

Offensively for Pettisville, Stephanie Hubby led the way, belting out 3 singles in the win;; Jaelyn Rufenacht hit for a double and a single, while Emily Hubby grounded out 2 singles on the game. Audra Klopfenstein, Taylor D’Alelio, Amber Klopfenstein and Sydney Purtee each recorded singles in the victory for the Lady Blackbirds.

For Stryker in the loss, Conner Varner led the way offensively for the Lady Panthers with 2 singles in the game.

The victory moves Pettisville to 3-1 in the BBC and 4-2 on the season. Stryker dropped to 2-2 in the BBC, and 2-3 on the season.
