Pettisville Lady Blackbirds Open The 2014 Season On The Road At Wauseon; Fall 8-7

WAUSEON: April 1, 2014: The Pettisville Lady Blackbirds hit the road on April 1, opening the rain delayed season for a non-conference outing with neighboring NWOAL foe Wauseon, falling to the Lady Indians 8-7.

For Wauseon in the win, Brooke Whipple recorded the win, allowing 5 hits and just one run in the win. Sam Norman also made an appearance on the mound for the Lady Indians. Offensively for Wauseon, Whipple blasted two singles and a double, while Tiffany King exploded for three singles. Olivia Banister lifted the eventual game-winning homer with a two run shot.

In the loss for Pettisville, Teagan Kauffman went the distance, giving up 8 runs on 15 hits, walking three and striking out two. Offensively, Amber Klopfenstein connected for a triple and a single, while teammate Mallory Riegsecker chipped in two singles; Kauffman rounded out the hitting recording two singles.
