WILLIAMS County SHERIFF
Due to an unfortunate recent trend, the Williams County Prosecutor’s Office and Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone of the following: Possessing or viewing a nude photograph of a juvenile is a serious felony offense in Ohio. “Sexting” a nude photo of a person under 18 years old is illegal for both the sender and the receiver. Williams County does prosecute these offenses. Those who show or send another’s juvenile nude photo to a third party will be prosecuted with the same charge as any child pornographer. Those who send their own photos or receive another juvenile’s photos may also be prosecuted. “Sexting” juvenile photographs could require the person to register as a sex offender. Parents are urged to tell their kids that “sexting” a nude photograph is not worth the consequences.

FULTON COUNTY
SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Sheriff Roy E. Miller announces that the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office conducted a High Visibility Traffic Blitz from March 14 through March 18, designated St. Patrick’s Day Blitz. Deputies who worked this Blitz made 31 traffic stops and issued 4 citations. The citations were for speed, two driving on a revoked or suspended license and one for an expired license plate. Deputies also issued 31 warnings to motorists. The High Visibility Blitzes are paid for from a grant that the Sheriff’s Office received from the Ohio Department of Public Safety. Sheriff Miller and his deputies are dedicated to protecting the citizens of Fulton County as well as the motorists who travel its highways. This grant allows extra patrol to enforce traffic laws that will increase the safety of motorists in areas that are prone to a higher number of serious and fatal crashes.
