‘Rivers Around Us’: Monitoring 101

VR LOGO - WEBRiver monitoring is on the rise now with everything that has been happening to our river and lake systems. Well, ‘Rivers Around Us’ is no exception. ‘Rivers Around Us’ is a local effort through the Williams Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to learn about water, rivers, and watersheds, as well as, conduct river monitoring. At our summer meeting, we learned about where our water was flowing in Williams County.

On March 20 the Williams SWCD’s ‘Rivers Around Us’ will be holding its first meeting of a six-part River Monitoring series where we are going to learn how to find out what is going on in our water.

This meeting will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the Williams SWCD office, 1120 West High Street, Bryan. This first session will cover the three types of water monitoring, how to use them in river monitoring and will also practice with river monitoring equipment.
