Rose M. Whitmer, age 65 of Wauseon, passed away at the University of Toledo Medical Center Sunday night, June 7, 2015. She was born in Wauseon on February 26, 1950. Rose was one of ten children to the late Chalmer I. Mohler Sr. and Helen (Reiter) Mohler. She graduated from Delta High School in 1968.
Some of Rose’s early employment included a bank teller with National Bank, owner and operator of Sunshine Corners Convenient Mart, Fayette Tubular and later a seamstress with Designer Shades. In 1995 she married David F. Whitmer. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Delta. Rose enjoyed fishing trips with her husband and traveling, especially Las Vegas.
Rose is survived by her husband of 20 years Dave; sons, Josh Rupp of Wauseon and Jessup Rupp of Dublin, OH; brothers, David (Deb), Richard (Reita), Roger, Jim and Bernard Mohler; sister, Donna (Mel) Connor; two grandchildren and her canine friend “Jake”. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Chalmer Jr., Robert L., and Jerry A. Mohler.
Friends and family will be received from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta; where a funeral service celebrating her life will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta. Pastor Eric Markovich will be officiating.
