WAUSEON — Both the Science Fiction & Fantasy and the Mystery Book Discussion Groups will meet the last week of February at the Wauseon Public Library. The Science Fiction & Fantasy Book Club will meet on February 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the library’s second floor board room while the Mystery Book Discussion Group will meet on February 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the library’s main floor Reading Room. Both book discussion groups are free and open to everyone.
The Science Fiction & Fantasy Book Discussion Group will be discussing “The Truth,” part of the Discworld Series by Terry Pratchett. The discussion will be facilitated by Library Director Amy Murphy.
According to the book’s jacket, “The denizens of Ankh-Morpork fancy they’ve seen just about everything. But then comes the Ankh-Morpork Times, struggling scribe William de Worde’s upper-crust, newsletter turned Discworld’s first paper of record. de Worde has a proclivity for investigating stories — a nasty habit that soon creates powerful enemies eager to stop his presses.”
The Mystery Book Discussion Group will hold its next meetings on Tuesday, February & March 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the main floor Reading Room. The group will be discussing “The Escape” by David Baldacci and “Aunt Dimity’s Death” by Nancy Atherton.
According to “The Escape’s” book jacket, “A combat veteran and special agent with the U.S. Army, John Puller is the man they call to investigate the toughest crimes facing the nation. But all his training, all his experience, all his skills will not prepare him for his newest case, one that will force him to hunt down the most formidable and brilliant prey he has ever tracked: his own brother.”
According to the book’s jacket, “Down-on-her-luck Lori learns she’s about to inherit a sizable estate–if she can discover the secret hidden in a treasure trove of letters in Dimity’s English country cottage. What begins as a fairy tale becomes a mystery–and a ghost story–in an improbably cozy setting, as Aunt Dimity’s indomitable spirit leads Lori on an otherworldly quest to discover how, in this life, true love can conquer all.”
The library has ordered copies of the book discussion books, so each group member may have one. Stop by the library, and pick up your copy today. For more information on the book discussion groups, please email the Wauseon Public Library at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 419-335-6626.
