Several Events Upcoming For Williams County Fair Foundation

VR LOGO - WEBThursday the 12th of February, 2015 the Williams County Fair Foundation met in regular session at 7:00pm in the Thaman Building on the Fair Grounds. Following the call to order, roll call found the 4 Officers, 1 Trustee and 9 members present.

Minutes of the regular & special January meetings were presented and approved. The Treasurer’s report was also read and approved. Committee reports included updates of The Maple Syrup Festival scheduled for March 28 as well as the Rib Festival and Tractor Show scheduled for July 24, 25 and 26. The huge 2 day garage sale will be February 28 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM and March 1 from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. The committee reported that all spaces are sold out. The Fish Fry Committee Chairman reported a huge response to the January fish fry and that everything is in place for the next fish fry scheduled for February 27. This fish fry will be in the Thaman Building again with serving beginning at 4:30 PM.

Old Business brought reports about ongoing work on door seals in the Gillette building as well as Scott Carroll reported he is still working on a good price for fans to help with the utility expenses of the Thaman building. The President reported on his meeting with the County Commissioners on the Kitchenette project. The Endowment was discussed again and tabled till March.

In “New Business” the subject of a computer, software and printer were discussed with a motion passing to set aside $1,200.00 for these improvements. Also presented were new vendor forms, requisition forms and volunteer applications. Next up was the subject of banking with a motion passing to change the checking account to a double signature checks as well as establishing a debit card account with a debit card policy. Discussion was also heard about new tables needed and a floor scrubber that was needed. Those were both referred to the Capital Improvement Committee. The President shared with the Board that he was working with the Agriculture Society on securing space in the Thaman Building to use as a Foundation office space.

Leonard Ludwig moved to adjourn the meeting and was seconded by Jeff Lehman. The motion passed and the next meeting will be held on March 12th, 2015 at 7:00 PM.
