(September 25th, 2014)-WAUSEON: Two of the three teams to qualify at the Sectionals match at Ironwood Golf Course are representatives of the Buckeye Border Conference. Stryker and North Central were the first and third place finishers at the event, respectively, earning the right to advance in the tournament.
The top three individual performers not part of the top three teams were also allowed to advance in singles competition. Hunter Shaull, of Montpelier, was the fourth best scorer at the event, but the first one not on the top three teams. His round of 78 was enough to move forward.
Stryker’s total of 338 won them the match, as medalist Tanner Clingaman fired a 75 to lead the way for the team. Teammate Chad Ruffer put up an 84, while Hayden Clingaman turned in an 89. Cody Hall completed the score with a 90.
For the Eagles, their 349 was good enough for third place. David Pinc contributed a 79 to that total. Fellow Eagles Jordan Reeves and Brady Zuvers added an 85 and 88, respectively. Brock Zuver completed the scoring for North Central, putting up a 97.
Montpelier came in fourth place at the event, shooting a 352. Hilltop took ninth place with a 371. Edon was right behind them at tenth with their total of 376. Fayette finished in thirteenth place with a 385.
