Stryker Lady Panthers Hold Off A Defiant North Central For Their First BBC Win

STRYKER – The North Central Lady Eagles have done nothing but improve under Coach Steve Bowling. The squad opened up the 2012 BBC season on November 30 to take on the Lady Panthers of Stryker. The improvements were obvious, but Stryker is more than tough on their home hardwood, a fact borne out by the 49-40 Lady Panthers’ win.
Stryker jumped out to an eight point lead, but they were only able to expand it to nine at the half. The Lady Eagles matched Stryker point for point in the second half, resulting in the nine point differential at the final buzzer.
Conner Varner went off for a game-high 25 for the Lady Panthers, with Connor Sullivan nailing a trio of treys and Christie Huston getting 8 points. Michaela Rupp put in 4 points, Maddie Uribes had 2 points and Ashley Haines added a free throw.
Shaylee Oyer led North Central with 18 points, while Bralyn Wyrick hit for 9. Tiana Wheeler dropped in 7 points, and Cady VanDeVoorde, Sabrina Pickford and Hannah Siekemeyer had 2 points apiece.
