The Stryker Local Board of Education extended seventeen contracts to teachers and staff during their April 20 regular meeting.
Teachers Brett Grieser and Emily Yoh-Rodriguez received three-year contracts. Two-year teaching contracts were awarded to Sacha Leu, Megan Barber, Tiffany Korzan, Calli Thiel, Kathleen King, Brenda DeGroff, Allyson Rupp, Laurin Waidelich and Angie Behnfeldt. Robert Davis received a two-year contract in transportation.
Matthew Arnos, Blake Ruffer, Cale Frey and Blake Burkholder each received one-year teaching contracts, and Kim Miller received a one-year extension as Athletic Director.
Mike Donovan and Dustin Maroon were both granted 20 day extensions.
District Treasurer/CFO, Ms. Richelle Oberlin, reported for the month a general fund cash balance of $2,988,392.91, with total revenues of $1,024,789.65, and total expenditures of $386,320.04. The Board approved her recommended receipt of three donations totaling $485.00. Those donations included $50.00 from Lauber Clothing and $200.00 from Teresa Kroetz, both earmarked to the Stryker Junior Class for the Prom, and an anonymous donation of $235.00 for the Girls’ Basketball fund.
Items in the report of Principal, Mr. David Schultz, included a congratulations to the third grade class of Ms. Beth Morr. Her class won first place in the Williams County DD Bulletin Board contest, with the theme of ‘Can Do Like You’. Upcoming events noted by Mr. Schultz included EOC PARCC and AIR testing starting on April 21, third grade OAA testing starting on April 22, and Diagnostics beginning the first week of May. April 29 marks the fourth nine week midterm, with Kindergarten registration running from April 30 and May 1. The Junior/Senior Prom will take place on May 2, and the Academic Awards Night coming up on May 18.
Prior to adjourning into executive session for the purpose of the discussion of employment, the Board Approved the graduating Class of 2015, contingent upon meeting all requirements, as well as approving open enrollment participation for the 2015-16 school year. The Board approved the Lady Panthers’ Basketball Team to the Adrian, Michigan, basketball camp from June 14-16, as well as membership in the Northwest Ohio educational Research Council for the 2015-16 school year.
