Stryker Panthers Host Holgate For Double Header; Split With Visiting Tigers



STRYKER– The Stryker Panthers hosted a Saturday double header on April 19 at home, playing host to the Tigers from Holgate. Stryker dropped the first game by the score of 9-2 while prevailing in game two 10-4.

Game #1

Cody Hall took the mound for game 1, going 4 innings while allowing 5 runs off of 7 hits and walking 4. Also seeing action in the loss, Chad Ruffer went 2 innings allowing 2 runs and Parker Ruffer closed it out, allowing no hits and runs.

Offensively for the Panthers, Cody Benson, Chad Ruffer, Kody Rohrs and Zach Birkey each hit for the Panthers in the game, with Birky hitting a double.

Holgate 9 – 6 – 1

Game #2

Parker Ruffer went the distance on the mound for the Panthers, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs in the victory for Stryker. Ruffer sat down 13 batters in the game while allowing just 1 walk in the game.

Ruffer, along with teammate Brody Shock both went 2 for 4 at the plate with each recording doubles in the win. Shock also was credited with a triple. Jacob Hancock connected for a triple in the game, driving in 2 RBI’s in the victory.
