On Mondays, June 08 through July 13, the Conservation Crusaders will meet at 1:00 pm. This is a separate program being offered in conjunction with the Pioneer Branch summer reading program by Williams Soil & Water Conservation District. SWCD Education Coordinator Loretta Hayek will involve the youth in a fun, educational program. The program will run for 6 weeks, where crusaders will learn about insects and pollinators, composting, recycling, and so much more! A special recognition will be given to all those who complete the program. All activities will occur at the library activity canopy tent. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. For more information, call the library at 419-737-2833.

On Tuesdays, June 09 through July 14, Super Twisters will take place at 1:00 pm. There will be a story time, games, crafts, and activities. Themes include Who is a Hero, Spectacular Sidekicks, Training Camp, Historical Heroes, and Animal Heroes.

On Thursdays, the Eaglets (for ages 2 ½ to 5) will meet at 11:00 am for a themed story time, crafts, and games.

There will be several special programs as well, which will take place at 11:00 am. Learn about the 23 heroes from Ohio who became astronauts in Super Astronauts on Wednesday, June 17. Presented by the Armstrong Air & Space Museum, kids will not only discover the history of Ohio’s astronauts, but will also get to see a real Apollo-style spacesuit! The Toledo Zoo will be holding the Zooper Challenge at the Pioneer Library on July 08. Enjoy educational and interactive fun with the animals. The tween/teen programs for ages 10-18, Nerdfighteria and Greek Mythology will take place on June 24 and July 15 respectively.
