Wauseon Board of Education Holds Regular Noon Meeting

The Wauseon Board of Education had a light agenda at their April 23, 2015 regular monthly noon meeting held at the Wauseon Primary School.

First on the agenda the board accepted the following donations with gratitude: $1000 from Deborah Johnston for the Line Drives for Larry Scholarship, $673.24 from the Wauseon Athletic Booster for materials to build a Ram Sled and for wrestling plaques and $229 from Greg and Judy Tefft to be used toward a softball pitching mat.

In other business the board approved/accepted:

•Modifications and supplemental modifications to the FY15 permanent appropriations for the Class of 2016 ($5000), Speech ($2,000) and Concessions ($1020) as well as to the FY15 certificate of estimated resources for the Class of 2016 ($4200) and Concessions ($2,400).

•Multiple then and now certificates associated with the FFA Banquet.

•The resignation of Eric Boswell as band director effective the end of the 2014-15 school year.

•A one-year limited certificated contract to Chris Roberts as the Wauseon Middle School (WMS) Guidance Counselor for the 2015-16 pending the receipt of a clean BCI/FBI background check.

•A one-year limited athletic supplemental contract to Mark Britsch as the seventh grade boys’ basketball coach.

•The second reading of several NEOLA Bylaw Policy additions, revisions and replacements.

Prior to adjourning the board heard presentations from teachers Jen Grim and Michelle Leatherman regarding the WMS Language Arts program and from Superintendent Larry Brown regarding NaviGate Prepared.

The next board meeting is scheduled for May 11 at 5:30 PM at the board office.
