MONTPELIER, OHIO –The Williams County Safe Communities program reports two fatal traffic crashes for the fourth quarter of 2014 during the months of October-December 2014. This compares with the fourth quarter of 2013 reporting of two fatal traffic crashes in Williams County. In 2014, there were 6 confirmed traffic crash fatalities in Williams County which included 2 alcohol related fatalities and 2 motorcycle fatalities. Non-use of seat belt was reported in 3 of the 6 fatal injury crashes.
As of February 23, 2015, Ohio traffic statistics reports 111 confirmed fatalities for 2015 as compared to 123 fatalities for the same date in 2014 a difference of -12 and a -10% change. There are an additional 27 unconfirmed provisional traffic fatalities to date.
