MONTPELIER, OHIO –The Williams County Safe Communities program reports one fatality for the second quarter of 2014. Crash consisted of three vehicles with fatality of driver of a motorcycle. The motorcycle driver was not wearing a helmet. No use of alcohol was reported. This compares with two fatalities from two single vehicle traffic crashes during the second quarter of 2013 in Williams County. As of July 31, 2014, Williams County has two confirmed traffic related fatalities.
As of July 31, 2014, Ohio Traffic Statistics Year-to-Date Traffic Fatalities show 474 confirmed fatalities in 2014 as compared to 523 confirmed fatalities reported for the same date in 2013. This comparison reflects a Difference of -49 points and a Percent Change of -9 %. There are 37 unconfirmed provisional traffic fatalities still being processed.
